MISHAP TO SHIP.
STRUCK SUBMERGED OBJECT. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, April s’. The motor ship Port Hobart, of 7448 tons gross register, while on her way down the coast from Auckland to Wellington, to continue discharge of her New York cargo, struck a submerged object off Cape Turakirae. The vessel arrived In Wellington at 7 o'clock on Saturday morning, but remained out in the stream instead of going to her berth at King’s Wharf, as her oil bunker had been fractured, and oil was escaping. A diver Is investigating the extent of the damage to the vessel.
