DRUNK AND DISORDERLY.
RELIEF WORKERS COLLIDE WITH POLICE. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. April 4. Police and five young relief workers, the latter all more or less drunk l - were concerned in a fracas on Thursday The five men were sent to goal when they appeared at the Police Court this morning. Three counts were brought against Sydney John Ball (28), labourer, who was charged with being disorderly and drunk, resisting the police, and causing mischief by wilfully damaging a taxi. He pleaded guilty and was sent to gaol for 14 days. The following were each sentenced to three days In gaol for obstructing the police in the execution of their duty:—Alexander Stewart Macmillan (21), seaman; Ernest Walter Briggs (23), labourer; Richard Llewellyn Lucas (21), labourer; Joseph Shannon (23), labourer.
