FORTUNE NEGLECTED.
MILLIONAIRE FOLLOWS HOBBY. United Frees Association—ily Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 20, 7.5 p.m.) PARIS, March 19. How a fortune of over £1,000.000 was neglected for thirty-five years, while the heir made up his mind to consult his lawyers, was disclosed in the case of M. Charles, a retired shipowner, who is a great-nephew of General Hoche, the revolutionary leader. M. Charles learnt that his aunt, Madame Eesantos, died in 1895, in Brazil, and knew that she was the widow of a wealthy planter, and that he was the sole heir. Being possessed of sufficient to live modestly, he did not prosecute his claim, and has now been notified that £1,250,000 estate is awaiting his disposal, so he instructed a Brazilian lawyer to take the necessary steps. Meanwhile M. Charles goes on with his hobby, which is the scientific study of oysters and their artificial fertilisation.
