Mr George Sara has resigned his position on the board of Cadbury, Fry, and Hudson.

Mr W. H. Hagger, the Conciliation Commissioner, will pay his last official visit to Dunedin next week. He will then retire, and will leave on a trip to England early next month. Mr W. J. P. Hodgkins, for eight years manager of the Bank of New South Wales in Auckland, has been granted leave of absence by the board until the end of the* year, when he will retire on superannuation after 48 year’s service. Mr S- J. Gandon. at present doing special duties in the London office of the bamk. has been appointed to succeed Mr Hodgkins.

Mr S. H. Harrison. Chief Postmaster, Dunedin, has been promoted to a similar position at Auckland, and wall leave for the north to-day. He joined the service in Christchurch as a telegraph messenger in 1895. Mr Harrison will be succeeded by Mr J. P. P. Clouston, who is at present supervisor of the staff division ai the General Post Office, Wellington.

It was reported to the Canterbury Education Board yesterday that Mr S. A. Clark, an inspector, had been transferred to Canterbury from Hawke’s Bay, that Messrs G. P. Graham and J. Brunton would be retiring on March 31, and that the inspection of schools in South Canterbury would again be undertaken by local inspectors. It was decided that letters of appreciation be sent to Messrs Graham and Brunton in connection with their long service in Canterbury.
