OBITUARY.
MR W. D. REVELL. The death occurred in Sister McAthur’s private hospital last night of Mr W. D. Revell, who was severely injured as a result of being run over by a car at the intersection of Stafford Street south and North Street on Monday last. Mr Revell was in the act of crossing the street, when he noticed a car almost upon him. In stepping back suddenly, he slipped, his feet shooting out in front of him. Before the driver of the car could stop, the front wheel had passed over Mr Revell's right leg, causing a compound fracture of the thigh. Mr Revell received medical attention immediately, and was conveyed to a private hospital, where he was at first reported to be making good progress. The news of his death will come as a shock to the whole community. Mr Revell was 53 years of age. and had been resident in Timaru for over 35 years.
