PERSONAL.
Mr C. H. Hewlett, of Christchurch, was on a visit to Timaru yesterday. Mr J. E. Henrys arrived in Timaru by the express from the north yesterday. Commissioner J. H. Cunningham, of the Salvation Army, will pass through Timaru to-day. Messrs J. Wyn-Irwin, J. Brunton and S. A. Clark, of the inspectoral staff of the Canterbury Education Board, are at present on an official visit to Timaru, and are staying at the Balmoral Hotel.
At last night’s meeting of the Timaru Fire Board, a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Colonel Cooper, who had been a Board member from 1913-1925, was carried, members standing in respectful silence.
