MALAYA COMMAND.
A CHANGE ANNOUNCED. British Official Wireless RUGBY, August 18. The War Office announces that Major-General L. C. L. Oldfield has been appointed General Officer Commanding in Malaya, with effect from February, 1931, in succession to MajorGeneral H. L. Pritchard. (Major-General Leopold Charles ! Louis Oldfield, C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0.. has commanded the 47th (Second London) Division T.A. since 1927. He was born in 1872 and entered the Army in 1892. He served in the European War. He was chief instructor in gunnery, School of Artillery, 1924-25. Major-General Harry Lionel Pritchard. C. 8., C.M.G., D. 5.0., has been General Officer Commanding in Malaya since 1929. He was born in 1871 and entered the Army in 1891. He served in the Ashanti Expedition, 1895-6, the Nile operations 1897, South African war, 1899-02, and the European War. He was Chief Engineer, Northern I Command, 1921-23, Assistant Director Fortifications and Works, War Office. 1923-25, and Chief Engineer, Eastern Command, 1925-29).
