Lord Fercy, the eldest son of the Duke, was one of the first of the volunteers. “It is uncommon for us to be unable to find someone with blood to suit an individual case,” an official of the ; British Red Cross blood-transfusion service said, “though I have known similar instances. We have a thousand volunteers who will give their blood willingly when called upon.” he added. LATEST BULLETIN. NOT FREE FROM FEVER. British Official Wireless RUGBY, August 19. The Duke of Northumberland spent a fair night. The slight improvement is maintained. Blood transfusions are now no longer considered advisable, but he is not yet free from fever.
