DUTY OF NATION
ATTENTION TO SOCIAL WELL-BEING. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, July 22. Mr Macdonald, addressing the interparliamentary representatives, said in the interests of peace and economy inter-Parliarnentary contacts should be more efficient. International understandings were retarded by nations negotiating on the assumption that the worst would happen. The world must not merely pass peace resolutions; it must give attention to great programmes of social well-being. Those Parliamentarians of a nation tolerating low standards of living were enemies not only of their own nation, but of all others. Social legislation was more becoming an international effort. All should fall in line therewith.
