PERSONAL.
Mr E. C. Hazlett, of Dunedin, was a passenger by the north-bound express. The Hon. P. A. de la Perrelle, Minister for Internal Affairs, passed through Timaru yesterday on his way to Wellington.
At a meeting of the New Zealand Public Service Association in Wellington yesterday, Mr G. McKessar (Timaru) was elected a vice-president, and Mr.S. J. Collett (Timaru), a member of the executive.
The only nomination received to fill the casual vacancy on the Canterbury College Board of Governors, caused by the temporary absence from the Dominion of Mr W. M. Hamilton, is that of Mr Hamilton himself, so Mr Hamilton will be re-elected. He represents the school committees of Canterbury on the board at present.
