Bobby Jones and Horton Smith fought another duel to-day, with Jones unable to overcome the young professional. Smith beat par figures with a score of 70, making a total for thirtysix holes of 142. Jones returned a card of 73, and his total now is 144. Harry Cooper tied with him. Macdonald Smith 145, Tommy Armour 146, and Walter Hagen 147, threw away their chances of remaining in the front.
