Johnnie Leckie (Napier) defeated Ted Nelson (Australia) in Napier on Saturday night, the Australian skying the towel at the end of the thirteenth round. Nelson was down for nine in the eighth round, but made a remarkable recovery and fought well up to the thirteenth, when a hard one to the r.olar plexus and another in the region of the heart made him declare the contest off at the end of the round. At no stage in the bout was the Australian in the picture.
