THE WEATHER.
Dominion Meteorologist. The depression located on Saturday over the Tasman Sea was crossing the Dominion yesterday. A rather intense cyclone has now developed on the New South Wales coast. Winds, mainly westerly at first, and moderate to strong, but a change to southerlies advancing from the south. Later, winds tending south-easterly over the South Island, and east to north over the North Island. Seas in New Zealand waters rather rough south of Cape Egmont, and later south of Castle - point, otherwise smooth to moderate. Tasman Sea, moderate south-west to south-east winds in the southern portion, and freshening north-east to north winds in the northern portion of the eastern Tasman, with moderate to rather rough seas. Weather variable, with scattered rain generally. Unsettled weather probable early in the week; temperatures becoming cold over the South Island.
