RAISING BARRIER AGAINST WOOL.

Members of the Tariff Bill conference held a special meeting and made several last minute changes, among which was the decision to accept the Senate rataing of mixed fabrics, containing 17 per cent or more of wool, by weight, as dutiable at the wool rate, to the extent of wool content plus the duty on other materials' in the cloth, instead of the earlier fixed duty of 20 cents per lb., plus 40 per cent.
