The amount deposited during the year was reported to be £1,013,295, and the amount withdrawn was £929,592. The amount standing to credit of depositors at the close of the year was £1.900,594. The deposit account was augmented by the addition of £83,506, which represents interest due to depositors for the twelve months. The number of depositors had steadily increased from 10,716 in 1925 to 25,277 in 1930. The balance to credit of depositors on March 31, 1929, was £1,733,385, whereas for the year just ended it was £1,900,594. The list of benefactions totalled £4550, including £ISOO to the Cancer Research Fund, and £IOOO to the Chair of Obstetrics Fund.
