NEW STEAMER SERVICE.
AUCKLAND—LOS ANGELES. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 29. Advice has* been received at Auckland that a new cargo service from Pacific Coast ports to New Zealand is to be run by the North Pacific— Australia line, which already runs steamers between Pacific Coast ports and Australia. The same vessels will be used on the new service, which will include Auckland as the port where all cargo for New Zealand will be unloaded. The service is expected to be a monthly one, and the first vessel, the 4400-ton Norwegian motor-ship Dagred, is scheduled to clear Los Angeles to-morrow. The vessel is bringing general merchandise for discharge at Auckland, Sydney and Melbourne.
