HARDSHIP COMMISSION.
REMISSIONS GRANTED. By Telegraph—Press Assoc J at*«n. WELLINGTON, April 29. The work of the commission appointed by the Government to investigate cases of hardship arising out of the imposition of the super-land tax is expected to be completed by the end of the current week. Given an entirely free hand by the Government, the Commission has now considered and finally disposed of 585 cases, and granted remissions totalling approximately £IOO,OOO. In all cases its decisions have .been accepted by the Government. It is anticipated that the Commission will bring its work to a close by the end of the week.
