SYDNEY WOOL SALES.
IMPROVED CONDITIONS MAINTAINED. (United Press Aasoc'atlor—By Xiectrlt 1 elegraph—CoDvrlarht.) (Received April 29, 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. At the wool sales; the offerings totalled 9185 bales. Of these, 8844 were sold; also 1851 privately. There was strong general competition. and perhaps more forcible bidding by Yorkshire and Japan, and the improved conditions reported yesterday were fully maintained. Greasy merino sold at 28d. It is also reported from Melbourne that spinners’ wools sold from 5 to 10 per cent, higher than the rates ruling before Easter, and other wopis averaged 5 to 7b per cent, advance.
