SPEED RECORDS.

KAYE DON DEFEATED. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) Received April 6, 11.0 p.m. NEW YORK, April 5. The Contest Board of the American Automobile Association has issued the following announcement concerning Kaye Don’s speed trials “The design of the Silver Bullet, in which Kaye Don hopes to better the world’s automobile speed record, makes it imperative that the course be in the best shape, and an extension sanction has been made for him to make his runs under the most favourable weather and beach conditions. The delays that have occurred have given rise to unfounded rumours that the noted driver has been prodded. Such an impression has crept into the British press, but it is absolutely without foundation.” A message from Daytona Beach states that the rough conditions on the beach prevail. Kaye Don has intimated that while the car will be ready on Sunday, the tests will be postponed indefinitely.
