CHARM OF COLOURED LUSTRE

INTRODUCED BY LADY SACKVILLE. It was Lady Sackville who first introduced us to the charm of bright coloured lustres, hung up in a sunny window to cast prisms of light all over the room, remarks a Londoner. Everyone who visited her at her house in a terrace facing south in Brighton has exclaimed at the beautiful effects she has achieved with her blue and green, pink and yellow lustres. An artist living in Kensington Square has followed Lady Sackville’s example. His pretty rooms overlooking the square are agleam, too, with prisms of every hue. Only the other day T visited a friend who hangs these coloured lustres from the cut glass candelabra above her dinner table. The effect was charming, for the colours were beautifully reflected on her plain cream walls.
