ART IN VIENNA.
Women are not admitted as members of the art societies in Vienna, so a year ago the leading artists among them formed their own society. They held a highly successful exhibition of painting, sculpture and graphic art in Austria, after which the outstanding artists were invited to sent their work to London.
This year the Vienna women artists held an exhibition devoted entirely to the home. It was intended to show how art could be brought to the service of daily life. The president, Frau Harifinger, exhibited a children’s night and day nursery made from her designs, and this and other the critics say, were remarkable for utility, charm and simplicity.
If a cake sticks in a tin put the cake tin in hot water for a minute or two, and the cake will usually slip out readily when you try it again.
