OIL IN PAPUA
PROSPECTING TO CEASE. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) CANBERRA, Feb. 5. The Federal Government has decided to discontinue prospecting for oil in Papua, owing to financial difficulties. The search, which was conducted by the Anglo-Persian Company for the Commonwealth cost about £SOO 900 to date.
