THE PRINCE’S PILOT.
MR FEILDEN APPPOINTED. (Dritiah Official Wirelaaa.) RUGBY, September 25. Mr Feilden has been appointed personal pilot to the Prince of Wales. He was selected out of eighty members of the Reserve of the Royal Air Force who were considered for the post. It is understood that the Prince does not propose to take out a pilot’s certificate, and the new Moth machine which he has purchased will be flown by Mr Feilden. As the machine is fitted with dual controls, however, the Prince will sometimes fly it. When the Prince uses the service machine that is at his disposal, Squadron-Leader Don will pilot it as hitherto. For the past six months Mr Fielden has been employed as personal pilot to Captain Guest, chairman of the National Flying Services Company. They only recently returned from an air trip to Africa. Last March, Mr Feilden was awarded are Air Force Cross for distinguished peace-time flying.
