TIGHTENING UP POLICE OFFENCES ACT. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, August 24. The Victorian Government is tightening the Police Offences Statutes Bill, now before Parliament, to prohibit fraudulent advertisements, betting in streets and hotels, and taking sketches or photographs of judges, barristers, accused persons, or witnesses in judicial proceedings.
