OIL ON PRINCE’S RANCH.

YIELD LIKELY TO BE WORTH MILLIONS. \ (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Received August 25, 11.0 p.m.) LONDON, August 25. The "Daily Express” says that as a result of a trans-Atlantic telephone talk, Professor Carlyle (manager of the Prince of Wales’s E.P. Ranch, in Alberta) gives prominence to the fact that the ranch of six thousand acres, lies on the track of a vast rich oil stream, and borings are slowly creeping up to its borders. There are 217 companies operating in the vicinity. Experts are confident that a strike can be made on the Prince’s estate at a depth of 5,500 ft., with a possible yield of £5,000,000. Professor Carlyle says the question of the Prince’s right to oil is at present the subject of negotiation with the Canadian Government, but he thinks the Prince will be entitled to take out licenses.
