STATUS OF CHINESE.
CONSUL DEMANDS CHANGES IN AUSTRALIA. (United Press Association—By Electrle Telegraph —Copyright.) (Received August 25, 5.5 p.m.) CANBERRA, August 25. It is understood that the Chinese Consul-General (Mr F. T. Sung) has forwarded certain demands to the Federal Government, relating to Chinese Nationals, including the bettering of conditions under which the Chinese reside in Australia, especially the refusal of naturalisation to those living in the country previously. A Federal amendment to the law to grant this concession, has been declared by the Government to be Impossible.
