DAIRY PRODUCE.
BIGHT AND INSURANCE RATES REDUCED. By Telegraph- -Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 24. Reductions m shipping freight and insurance rates on butter and cheese are announced by the Dairy Produce Board. The freight rate on all dairy produce shipped on and after September 1, irrespective of the date of final departure of the loading vessel, will be:— Butter —4s per box, less 12 4 per cent, told rate 4s less 74d per cent). Cheese—gd per lb,, less 124 per cent, (old rate £d per lb, less 74 per cent). The reduction in insurance premiums that comes into force in respect of all dairy produce shipped in vessels sailing finally from the Dominion on and after September 1 is as follows: To United Kingdom: Butter induced from 7s 3d per cent, to 7s per cent.; cheese from 9s per cent, to 8s 2d per cent. To New York and Halifax: Butter reduced from 6s 7d per cent, to 6s 4d per cent; cheese from 8s 4d to 7s 6d per cent. To Montreal and inland towns, via Halifax: Butter reduced from 7s 3d per cent, to 7s per cent.: cheese from 8s 9d per cent, to 7s lid per cent. To Panama, Vancouver and Victoria, 8.C.: Butter (as before), 6s per cent.: Cxieese reduced from 8s per cent, to 7s 8d per cent. The Canadian inland towns, via Vancouver: Butter reduced from 6s 7d per cent to 6s 4d per cent.; cheese from 8s Id per cent, to 7s *6d per cent.
