William the Third, a great stayer, winner of £13,578 in stakes, and sire of Wenklpop £12,175. VALKYRIAN comes from the same branch of the No. 9 family as Rapine. The great American racehorse, his grand-dam St. Natalia, is half-sister to the great mare La Sogesse, winner of Lincoln Stakes, Newmarket Stakes, Epsom Oaks, Derby Cup, and as his dam is, like Gloaming, a daughter of Eager, who also is the maternal grand sire of Paper Money. VALKYRIAN is a beautiful bred young horse, and also a winner in England. He met with a slight accident shortly after coming to New Zealand, and could not be trained here. He has got plenty of size and good bone. He is making a great mark as a sire. His progeny have won 29 races, 84 placings this season. VALKYRIAN is the sire of Idun, Orewa, Leitrim, Red Sea, Whakarili, Winnington, Tlie Jack Jumper, Valkon, Vallar, Prince of Orange, Odin, Standfast, Valuation, all winners. His stock are winners on flat and over hurdles and steeplechases. Visiting mares will receive careful attention. No responsibility. Good grazing. Wet mares 6/-: dry mares 3/- per week.
