CHATHAM CUP FINAL. TRAMWAYS DEFEAT SEACLIFF. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 24. In the Chatham Cup final, Tramways (Auckland) beat Seacliff (Otago) by 4 goals to nil. Heavy showers fell, making the heavy ground very slippery. Tramways led by one goal to nil at half-time, after playing against a strong southerly. Tramways were hot on the attack right from the jump/ and narrowly missed scoring in the first minute. Seacliff, however, were unlucky on several occasions, bad shooting with good opportunity alone preventing scores. Tramways kept up the hot pace in the second spell, but even against the wind Seacliff had periods of attacking, bad shooting again proving costly. The scorers for Tramways were Dell, Lewis, and Spencer (2). After the game Sir Charles Statham, Speaker of the House of Representatives, presented the Cup and medals to the Tramway team.
