THE WEATHER
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind moderate to fresh south to east; weather still cold and unsettled, with occasional showers likely. Dominion Meteorologist. The second of the two cyclones mentioned yesterday has moved across the Auckland Peninsula. Still another has formed to-day on the New South Wales coast. Expect winds southwesterly, north of Kawhia and Napier; elsewhere south-easterly, moderate to strong generally. Seas moderate on the West Coast of the South Island; rather rough elsewhere, and with a heavy swell south of Castle Point. Weather still cold, changeable, and showery, more especially in eastern districts south of East Cape; mainly fair in western and southern parts of the South Island.
