A SPECIAL AUDIENCE

THE PRIME MINISTER’S DAUHTER. The Queen, it is understood, is presently to grant a special audience to Miss Ishbel MacDonald, the eldest daughter of the Prime Minister, and it is understood that this will take place one morning at Buckingham Palace, writes an authority. When the last Labour Government was in Office, Her Majesty met Miss MacDonald on several occasions and formed a great liking for her that has existed ever since. When Mr. Ramsay MacDonald and his daughter passed a week-end at Windsor Castle, the Queen had several highly interesting conversations with the latter. These ranged over a very wide series of topics, indeed. The Queen was not only then very greatly struck with the acumen and general knowledge that Miss MacDonald displayed but also with the independent line of thought that she possessed on several subjects. It is understood that one of the subjects that is likely to be discussed when this forthcoming audience takes place is Miss Ishbel MacDonald's work on the London County Council, since women’s activities on any public body is a matter that makes very considerable appeal to the Queen.
