MISSIONARY COUNCIL.
ANNUAL MEETTNQ IN WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, Ang. 23. The annual meetlDg of the New Zealand National Missionary Council, which represents the leading Protestant Missionary Societies and Committees of the Dominion, was held In Wellington recently. The Bishop of Nelson (Dr Sadlier) presided over a representative meeting. The hon. secretary (Rev. David Oa£der) presented hie report. Which showed that during tho year Churches were taking a wider Interest In the work being done by Missionary Societies other than their own, by Interchange of speakers. It was decided that, In view of the desirability of holding a national missionary conference in 1931, the executive should explore the ground that will need to be covered, and call the Council together to complete the arrangements for such a conference to further prayer for missionary work. It was decided to recommend to all ministers and congregations that a day at St. Andrews-tide, suitable to local conditions, be set aside for the purpose. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, the Bishop of Nelson: vice-presidents, the Revs, F. E. Harry, W. M. P. Lascelles, W. Mawson, E. D. Patchett F. B. Redgrave; hon. secretary, Rev. D. Calder; hon. treasurer Rev. F. C. Long; executive. Rev'. W. M. P. Lascelles, E. D. Patchett, F. H. Wilkinson, Mrs Inglis, Mr J. Black, the secretary and the treasurer. The following were appointed publl - ity members for their respective centres:—Auckland, Rev. W. Mason; Wellington, the secretary; Christchurch, Rev. F. B. Redgrave; Dunedin, Rev, W. A. Hamblett.
