SPEED IN THE AIR.
NEW RECORDS FORECASTED. (United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON. August 20. The world's greatest speed was achieved by Flying Officer Atcherley, when S 6 to-day reached an estimated maximum of 350 miles per hour at Calshot. It is uncertain whether the United States will be represented as the American aeroplanes have not yet proved of adequate speed to make it worth while competing.
