Steady progress is being made at the Waitaki electric power works at Awakino. The bridge across the river has

been completed, and materials are now being got in readiness for the erection of the coffer dam. About 250 men are

now employed, and there are fully 150 on the waiting list. The Y.M.C.A. canteen is proving a great social help to tho workers, and every provision has been made to safeguard the health ot those engaged in the big undertaking.
