WEDDINGS.

CROSS-BLACK. In glorious sunshine, a very pretty wedding was solemnised oil iuescl.n, June 1/th, at Knox Church, AVaimaie, when Jessie, second youngest of Air and Airs AV. Black, “Wailmo Grange,” AVaihao Downs, was married to Air Thomas D. S. Cross, youngest son of Air and Airs George Cross, Esalamls,” St. Andrews The ceremony was performed by the Rev. J• D. \V n son. Mr M. Lewis, cousin of the bridegroom, presided at the organ. <he bride looked charming m a beautiful gown of coral pink erepc-Ue-chiiie, trimmed with pearls and. caught at the side with a pearl ornament, the sleeves and panels being ofradium lace. She wove a mop cap veil, vh'c-i was held in place by a wreath of pniK leaves and finished at the sides with orange blossom. She also wore pink stockings and brocaded shoes. Her toilette was finished with a beautiful shower bouquet of white chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a gold, expanding watcli, and tho bride s_ present to the bridegroom a gold albert. The bride was attended by her ;»vo. sisters, Aliss Martha Black, wearing a pretty frock of mauve evepe-de-chuie, and "Aliss Mildred Black, wearing .a dainty frock of champagne crepe-bo-chine. Both bridesmaids carried beautiful bouquets of autumn-tinted flowers and maidenhair’ fern. The bridegroom's gifts to tho bridesmaids were, a muni cure set, and an aquamarine pendant i espcctively. . She also wore a gold brooch, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by bis cousin. Air T. Lewis, of Hilton, and Mr R. Black, brother of the bride, as groomsman. After the ceremony, a reception was held at Knox Hall, where Air and Airs Black entertained about 60 guests: - Later in the afternoon the happy' couple left, amid showers of confetti, for the North Island, -whore the wed' ding tour will bo spent.
