Store sheep—A fairly big entry was penned, principally of lambs. Lambs sold exceptionally well, ewe lambs being particularly well sought after. lour and six-toothed 2-bred ewes m lamb lealised 40s, cull sound-mouthed haltbred ewes 29s 6d, good aged crossbred ewes in lamb 23s 3d. Four and six-, toothed threequarterbred wethers maoe 30s 7d to 33s sd, four, six and eighttoothed halfbred wethers 30s id to 33s sd, inferior four, six and eighttoothed wethers 26s 3d; two, tour and six-toothed Corriedale wethers 30s la to 32s Id; threequarterbred wether lambs 22s 3d to 23s 10d threequarterbred ewe lambs 28s 3d to -,Bs 10d, threequarterbred mixed sexed lambs 23s la to 265, crossbred wether lambs 9] s 9<i to 245, crossbred mixed sexed lambs 22s 4d to 24s 2d, halfbred wether lambs 22s to 23s 6d, Corriedale wether lambs 22s 3d. . , , Fat lambs. —The entry of fat lambs totalled 2200, compared with 1200 last week Not many well-finished lambs were' offered, the bulk of the entry consisting of light and unfinished stuff. Extra prime lambs brought 39s (a tew special 43s 9d), prune 3os to 38s, medium 31s to 345, light 2os to 30s. Fat sheep.—Twelve races were penned the quality of which was scarcely up to last week’s. Values were easier at the beginning of the sale, but soon improved, only to drop back again as the sale progressed, towards the end prices picked up again, values finishing about on a par with those of last sale. Extra prime wethers made oOs, prune 40s to 455, medium 35s to 39s 6d Fxtia prime ewes brought 425, prune 32s bd to 35s 6d, medium 28s to c2s. Fat cattle.—An overflow entry came forward, consisting of dGO, against 420 last week. Values of plain sorts were about LI to £1 10s below the rates foi this class last Wednesday. Prune quality beef sold at 30s to 32s Qd, with extra prime up to 34s per lOOlbs, medium 25s Gd to 2bs, light 20s to 24s and rough down to 10s. Extra pimm steers £l7 17s 6d, prune £ll to £l4 medium £8 to £lO 10s; extra prune heifers £8 12s 6d, prime £o Ids to £( 10s, ordinary £3 15s to £o_los ; extra prime cows £lO ss, prune £5 os to £< 10s. medium £4 to £5. Vealers.—An overflow entry of veab ers, but many were unfit for butcheis purposes. Runners £5, good vealers £2 10s to £3 15s, good calves £1 os to £2 ss, small 5s to 15s. . Store cattle.—A large entry, most \ of nondescript sorts. Best cows made £2 to £2 17s 6d, medium £1 10s to £1 17s 6d; three-year-old steers £3 J»> vearlings 10s to 15s; two-year-old heifers £T 10s to £2 ss, yearlings TOs to £l. Dairv cattle—A large yarding was forward and practically the wliolo offering was disposed of. Best second, thiicl and fourth cal vers (springing) £8 os to £l2 15s, medium sorts £6 to £B. Best springing heifers £8 to £ll lUs, medium £5 to £7 Ids. Best cows just calved £7 to £8 10s,. —A. small entry met with a keen demand. BURNSIDE STOCK SALE. By Telegraph—Prens Association. DUNEDIN, June IS. At Burnside to-day firm prices were obtained for all prime quality stock. The yarding generally was

moderate, and with the exception of fat sheep prices showed an advance on last week’s rates. Fat Cattle.—2B 2 head were yarded, compared with 372 at last sale. The advance on prime sorts was about 10s per head. Prime handyweight bullocks sold at up to 34s per 10 0 lbs, heavy-weight and medium quality bullocks 28s to 30s; prime heifers 255,, cows and light heifers 18s to 225. Extra prime heavy-weight bullocks sold up to £l6 10s, prime £ll 15s to £l4 10s, medium to £ll. Extra prime cows and heifers brought up to £9, prime £5 10s to £7, medium £4 10s to £5 10s. Fat Sheep.—The yarding consisted of 3044, compared with 3334 last week. All light-weight ewes and wethers suitable for export met with a buoyant sale. Several outside buyers were operating, together with the usual squad p’f butchers and freezing company’s representatives. Prime handy-weight wethers*sold at up to 7d per lb, prince heavy-weight and medium quality wethers to 63d, heavy ewes to 4Jd, and aged ewes to 4d. Extra prime heavy-weight wethers realised from 54s to 57s 3d, prime 41s to 43s 6d, medium 30s 9d to 3 ss. Extra prime heavy-weight ewes sold at up to 34s 6d, prime 28s to 325, medium 20s to 245. Fat Lambs.—9o9 were penned, compared with 2004 at last sale. Today’s values for prime lamb were on a basis of from lOd to 103 d, and for second quality from 9d to 9id. Store Cattle. —A medium entry numbering about 250 head. Sixty head of three and four-year-old Hereford cross steers sold at prices ranging from £6 5s to £8 7s 6d. Cows suitable for canning purposes sold at from £2 10s to £3 10s. Dairy Cattle. —A smaller yarding than usual, only about twenty head being offered. Best cows sold up to £9, heifers from £7 10s to £B, and aged cows from £3 to £4. Pigs.—A small entry which comprised all classes. Prices for all prime sorts showed an advance oi fully 10s per head. Prime baconers were sold on a basis of about 7id, and prime porkers at about Sid per lb.
