ASHWICK FLAT.
'(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual hare shoot has been arranged for Thursday, 18th June. A stare will be made about 9.30 ironi a point on the Clayton Road, that will be indicated. Hares will be sent to various charitable institutions, and as it is hoped to kill between two and three hundred, there should be enough for all. The local householders meeting passed oil without undue excitement. Seats on the committee for the ensuing vear, were nob keenly competed for, but eventually the following committee was elected: Mrs D. O’Reilly, and Mrs C. H. Whatman, Messrs A. F. Campbell, D. Ewart, and C. H. Whatman (chairman). The committee are at present endeavouring to arrange a suitable date for the annual school dance, but it is found difficult to arrange an isolated date. However, your advertising columns will shortly announce a date, as something must be done to keep the school fires burn--1 Farm work is being pushed on while such suitable conditions prevail. The land is in good order for all kinds of work. Turnips, and winter feed, are scarce this yoar. and for this reason the present fine weather is appreciated as it helps the stock into the winter, in good condition.
