AFRICANS PLAY YORKSHIRE. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright, LONDON, Juno 5. In the match against the South Africans, Yorkshire in the first innings mad© 236. Brackenberg took four wickets- for 58, and Pegler three for 31. The weather was warm and bright, and the attendance totalled 5000. Yorkshire’s innings lasted for 303 minutes.
The wicket became sticky by lunch. Africa, In the first innings against Yorkshire, made 111 (Commaille 24 (. Kilner took four for 30, Macaulay four for 47. Yorkshire, in the second innings, 29 —Sutcliffe 67 not out). The bowlers reaped a harvest after lunch on a sticky wicket. Five wickets fell in an hour. Then Commaille and Blanchenberg made a useful stand.
Yorkshire had two hours’ hatting The Africans fielding was excellent.
