A professional wrestling maten, catcli-as-catch-can, best two of three falls, pin points, only strangle-hold barred, between Sunni (Indian champion) and Gunning (a well-known Australian exponent) took place in the Municipal Theatre in the presence of a big crowd. From the outset the Indian was too clever, and the contest was over in about half an hour, Sunni securing two successive falls. The first was obtained by what is known as Gotch’s famous show hold, and the second by a scissors hold. Another professional match, between T. Kara, Ha wires' Bay champion, and Salisbury, late of the police force, five five-minute bouts, ended in a draw, neither securing a fall.
