Lord Dudley'* motor car, with Lady Dudley aboard, got jammed between two moving trains in Oxford street. The car wns badly smashed, and Lady Dudley was severely shaken and slightly bruised. Her escupe was sensational.
Ilcr ladyship waa taking her - daily drive in a 50 horse power Daimler car, and'the chaff our was the only other occupant. Ho attempted to crose two trams running in opposite directions, "under tho impression that one of them was about to stop, at a non-stop street. Realising that a collision was inevitable the chaffeur swung tho oar partially round between the trams, whose drivers also eased the speed. The car struck one smartly, and tho other tram jammed it. Splintered glass, and woodwork were scattered over Lady Dudley, who showed great-coolness and nervo in her perilous position; She declared tfyat she was unhurt, and that she considered th© accident unavoidable. She returned to Government House in a cab. But for the clmffeur's action in swinging, and the trams in easing, the car between them would have been cut in two. The windows and woodwork were smashed, otherwise the damage done woe not serious.
