SUICIDE. I'er Press Association. THAME*. May 27. A sensation was eauvd this morning when it became known that Horace i\ Huddlestone, about 3D years of age, at one time .secretary to'the. Auckland Stock Exchange, who has been on the Thames for .some time, had committed suicide. Huddlestone was residing at McLeay's boardinghouse, and did not appear at breakfast. About 10 o'clock a shot was heard and a heavy iall. The door was locked but was broken open and Huddlestone found lyin<j on the Hour in his pyjamas. Ha had shot himself through the heart and must have hehi the r< volver do.--to his body, for his pyjamas were burnt. It is believed tlia.t ticeeas-. '.l at one time was worth a considerable sum. Latterly he bad fallen on hard times, and wad an inmate of the hospital some time back. He leaves a wife and one child.
PALMERSTON N., May 27. An elderly woman named Rosalia James dropped down in King streetyesterday afternoon. Almost as soon a.s assistance came to hand, and boiore :■ dietor could be summoned she expired. The cause of death is unknown. Deceased had not been under medical attendance for several years, but some time ago she complained of ])i!ins in the region of the heart.
