Plaintiff alleged that the ' pills prescribed by tho defendant had caused strangulated hermia \viiich necessitated an operation and stated in evidence that when slip consulted the defendant she told him she was ruptured. Defendant denied that plaintiff said anything about being ruptured. If lie had known she was ruptured he would have sent her to a doctor. Several, medical men gave evidence for plaintiff and defendants as to tie- probable result of taking the mils. The Magistrate gave judgment for the defendant, holding that The evidence wa.s contradictory and that strangulated hornvin might have been caused by plaintiff stepping off-a tram. THE GOVERNOR.
