Lloyd's have received a detailed account from the captain of the steamer Harlow. He states that the vessel supposed to he the AVarntah was sighted six miles off, smoking fiercely. Two explosions occurred within a few seconds of each other. The captain only heard of the AA'aratah being missing a few days before lie arrived at Manila, and presumed- she. was returning to Durban. He estimates that the wreck lies in 20 fathoms of water between Cape Hermes and St. John River.
