Tho British steamer Hcstia struck on a shoal in the Bay of Fundy on the coast of Canada. The captain and most of the crew and four passengers took to the boats. One boat capsized and 14 were drowned. Two boats with thirty aboard aro missing. Six of the crew who stuck to the ship were rescued by lifeboats. . HOLD ON FIRE. Received 0.15 p.m., Oct. 28th. LONDON. Oct. 28.
The steamer Otaki has arrived in the Thames with her No. 3 hold (which contains wheat) on fire; the fire is well under control.'
