Some well acted and staged dramatic studies were well received and last hut not least, a highly amusing lot of comic sets. SKATING. The pictures chosen for the re-opening are a, fine selection, and are all new to Timaru. !l'he star dramatic set Redeemed from Sin, is said to be one of the finest dramatics ever shown on the screen, it being full of interesting incidents. The latest Marathon Race, run in America is also said to bo a fine picture. Fashionable Paris and Review of the Gerv man Army should both be attractive, and there are many other good things, including comic sets. The professor himself will appiear in a female specialty turn, which will be a good addition to the entertainment. Professor Sherwood gives really good amusement, his pictures are clearly shown, an expert operator having charge of the cinematograph plant, -which gives a fullsize picture. The baby beauty show competition closes to-day, so intending competitiors must hurry up and get their photos taken, which can be' done free of charge at Messrs Mahan and Halford's. There is already a number of entries, and this competition should prove a successful item. The professor's prizes are worth winning, fie has been liberal in this way, and deserves better patronage than has been bestowed upon him of late.
