A sailor named Thomas Thompsoi, reported to the police that he was m a small yacht in the harbour on 1 «.esday night, when a squall struck Uie yacht, and his companion, a man r,i tiled iJeggarty, also a, sailor, fell rboard. Thompson states tnat lie into a dingey and searched, but neiuier saw or heard anything of Heggart.s. CHRISTCHURCH, May 27. An inquest was held this auernoon touching the death of Agues .Morton lirown, who died suddenly last nightwhile being driven in a cab from the railway station to lier residence. '1 he Coroner returned a verdict that death, was duo to disease of the arteries of iho brain. ASIiJjrRTOX, May 27. Hugh Urquhart. aged 2(i learn, a single man, was killed by falling over a cliff while rabbit-poisoning at Mesopotamia yesterday afternoon. Deceased's' parents reside close to Geraldine. About three years ago a man named Gillman was killed in the samo manner in the same locality and the country is known to be very rough and DUXEDJN. May 27. The inquest on the body of Lucy Kingston, aged 20 years, who dica at the hospital recently, was concluded to-dav. The only witness called was Mrs Towler. carrying on business in the Arcade. She said that she did not know a woman named Lucy Kingston. and did not remember a young woman calling at her shop on April 23rd. Deceased was not supplied with medicine by witness. The Coroner ieturned a verdict to the effect that death resulted from septic inlcction in connection with miscarriage, dangerous.
