FARMERS' UNION.
A STATE BANK. THE MILK STANDAHD. Per Press Association. PAHIATUA, Feb. 22.At a meeting of the local branch of the Farmers' Union, the Hon. A. "\V. Hogg's recent statement as to his being favourable to the State issue of money was adversely criticised. It was resolved that farmers are opposed to any "wild-cat" financial scheme which would have the probable effect of creating a financial crisis. A copy of the resolution will be forwarded to the Colonial Executive. It was considered that the milk standard as fixed by the Health Department was unnecessarily high and difficult to obtain.
