FIRES.
Per Press Association. GISBORNE, Jan. 23. The residence of Mr George Scott, Te Karaka, was destroyed by lire last evening. Dry grass caught fire some distance from'the house, and spread to the dwelling. The house was insured for £3OO, and the furniture for £l5O in the National office.
