THEATRE ROYAL.

WESTS PICTURES AND BRESCIANS.

West's Picture Company and. the talented Brescians appeared at the Theatre Royal for the second time on SliJurday, evening and again had a full house. The programme presented was as usual a good' one, the musical items given by the Brescians being par excellence; while the living pictures were all new and interesting. Some little trouble was met with at the •start through Ame fault in the mechanism used fori, throwing-.■'ithe pictures on the screen and the lost time necessitated the cancelling of one or two of the items on the. programme; but the gap was filled in an able manner by some of the musi--cians. Misses A. Martinengo and Browne and Mr Lis, and the audience appreciated the .change just as much as if the-pro-gramme .had been adhered to. Some of the best pictures shown were those representing the Yellowstone Park (the United States Wonderland), the "Enchanted Glasses," (a series of marvellous transformation scenes), and some fine comic films', notably the "Modern Don Juan" and "A Diabolo Nightmare." The Brescians, ■ for their part, 'earned-rounds of applause, especially in their first selection, a good fantasia entitled "Green Isle of Erin," in ! which the whole ' company took part. Other items, such as songs by Misses S. and A. Martinengo, Messrs ' Hayward, Chenoweth and Mills to the accompany menti of excellent music fully sustained; the reputation of these ;T artists—so much so, .that another full house is confidently looked forward to this evening.
