P«r Press Association. PALMERSTON N., March 28. At. the Supreme Court this morning, Mr Justice Cooper delivered.judgment in the case in which William Reed and others applied to have the election of two directors for the Levin Co-operative Dairy company Ltd. declared void and for a. mandamus ordering the company to proceed with a fresh election. His Honour held thait the action must fail on the ground that the company was not the plaintiff and that the majority of shareholders had not decided that- tho action should be brought; also that a subsequent meeting of shareholders, at which 'the plaintiffs were represented, confirmed the election of the directors and remedied any irregularity in the election. Judgment was given for the defendant with costs on the middle scale, assessed at £36 lis. WELLINGTON, March 28. At the Supreme' Court to-day, Frank Halligan was charged with a breach of the Chattels Act' and was admitted to probation. Henry Hegarty, who admitted having converted! to his own use during a period of seven months about £loo belonging to the Vacuum Oil Company, was sentenced to three: months imprisonment.
